On June 14, 2000, the name of the HICCSC Health & Education Foundation was changed to the Richard Kane Health & Education Foundation; this in tribute to Richard Kane for his very generous donations to the foundation over the years. Richard is a local Native Hawaiian business owner of Hawaiian Sweet Islands and on an annual basis, the monies raised via the ho’olaule’a soda booth, go to serve scholarship programs and support of many cultural programs, youth programs, and health programs in the community.
